Professor Lin Juan from Renmin University of China gave lectures in our school

    On april 24, 2013, Lin Juan, a professor of Chinese People’s University came to our academy for academic exchanges. At 14:30, he made a wonderful academic report entitled “Sonochemical Deposition of Au Nanoparticles on Different Facet-Dominating Anatase TiO2 Single Crystals and Resulting Photocatalytic Performance” to us students and teachers in the conference of the first floor in our academ, which was chaired by the President Deng Kejian. A part of teachers and students came here to listen to the report carefully.

    Professor Lin Juan graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University and got his bachelor’s degree and his master’s degree respectively in 1984 and 1988. And then he got his Ph.D. of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was a lecturer in Department of Applied Chemistry of Shenzhen University during 1988 to 1996 and a postdoctoral fellow in Clemson University, USA. And he was a postdoctoral fellow and the innovation project manager of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. From 2005 to now, he is the associate professorprofessordoctoral tutor in the Chemistry Department of Remin University of China. Professor Lin is mainly engaged in photocatalytic materials, the basic theory and the application of heterogeneous catalytic inpollution of air and wate, and the synthesis and characterization of various inorganic nano structure materials. He also held some National Natural Science Fund Project: design and research of new photocatalyst based on the charge transfer between metal-metal induced by visible light, the visible light response of perovskite oxide solid solution SrTi1-xMO3-d and the behavior of visible light photocatalytic oxidation of organic.

    In the report, Professor Lin Jun firstly elaborated the importance of metal Au loading on TiO2 in field of photocatalytic meterials. Then, Professor Lin introduced his recent research results: supporting gold nanoparticles on TiO2 single crystal which has different crystal faces with exposurure by ultrasonic chemical method, and he researched the vector TiO2 exposed crystal surface for the Au load, Au surface plasma electron transfer and the influence of photocataltic activity.

    Teachers and students were interested in Professor Lin’s report and he won warm applause. Teachers and students asked him questions actively and he gave his detail answers patiently. Then the report ended in warm applause.
