Dr. Fengshou Xiao, professorof Zhejiang University, gave a talk titled ‘Improving catalytic performance by regulating the wettability of catalytic materials’ on Oct. 26th, 2017. It was hosted by Prof. Aiqing Zhang.

Prof. Xiao introduced his group’s research progress in catalytic performance improvement by regulating the wettability of catalytic materials. In order to improve the activity, selectivity and life time of catalysts, he studied the migration capabilities of catalytic reactants and products in the channel of catalytic materials that were often ignored, creatively improved catalytic performance by regulating the wettability of catalytic materials. The activity, selectivity and life time of catalysts were greatly improved. The method is widely used in energy catalysis, biomass conversion and environmental catalysis. The talk was warmly welcomed by audience, resulting in active discussion. After the presentation, prof. Xiao had an informal discussion of heterogeneous catalyses with researchers.

Prof. Fengshou Xiao is a Special Professor of Zhejiang University, an expert in catalysis. He was awarded with National Outstanding Youth Fund. He is Secretary General of the Asia Pacific catalytic Council, China catalytic Society Committee member and so on. He is on editorial board of Catalysis Surveys from Asia, CHINESE JOURNAL OF CATALYSIS, and I&EC Research (ACS). He has more than 350 publications, which were cited for more than 10,000 times with H factor 53. He has 50 licensed patents. He won Thomson Scientific Research Frontier Award in 2008, and the first prize of Natural Science of Ministry of Education in 2009.
