Dr. Paul M. Mayer, professor at Ottawa University, Canada, gave a talk titled ‘Reaction dynamics of ionized PAHs by iPEPICO and collision spectroscopies’ on Dec. 1st, 2017. It was hosted by Prof. Xian Wang.

Professor Paul Mayer talked about polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) playing major role in astrochemistry, and their fragmentation characteristics by mass spectrometry. He explained the chemical reactions of PAHs and collision gas in gas station, analysis and identification of reaction ions and reaction mechanisms by means of iPEPICO and experimental and theoretical calculation of cross section of PAHs.

Professor Paul Mayer is the head of School of Chemistry and Biology and Molecular Science and director of Mass Spectrometry Center at Ottawa University, Canada. He won Mass Spectrometry Contribution Award, and Special Award for Analysis and Application by Canadian Mass Spectrometry Association. He was the chairs of the 21st International mass spectrometry Conference, the 98th Canadian Conference on chemistry and Applications, the 22nd International Conference on physical and organic chemistry. He is on editorial board of Canadian Journal of Chemistry, and European Journal of Mass Spectrometry. He has more than 150 publications in TrAC Trends Anal. chem, Anal. Chimica Acta, Chemosphere, Scientia Sinica, J. phys. Chem. A, Mass spec. Rev. and so on. And he authored three books.
