Dr. Gang Fu, professor at Xiamen University, gave a talk titled ‘Theoretical study on catalysis of nano surface interface’ on Dec. 9th, 2017. It was hosted by Prof. Aiqing Zhang, the head of College of Chemistry and Materials Science.

Prof. Fu started with mechanism of catalytic reaction and structure-activity relationship of nanomaterials, introduced his group’s research advances in the catalytic theoretical study of three interfaces including metal-organic compound, metal-oxide and metal-metal. The topics was warmly welcomed by audience, resulting in active discussion. After the presentation, prof. Fu had an informal discussion of surface catalysis of nanomaterials with young researchers from College of Chemistry and Materials Science.

Prof. Fu, born in Dec., 1974, obtained his Bachelor’s and Ph. D. degree at Xiamen University. His dissertation won first prize for Excellent Doctorate in Fujian, and was nominated for National Excellent Doctorate. He’s worked in Xiamen University since 2004. He became an associate professor in 2008, and a full professor in 2016. He visited Ecole Normale Super Lyon, France from 2011 to 2012 and cooperated with Prof. Philippe Sautet. His research interest is on Theoretical study on catalysis of nano surface interface. He published over 40 research papers at ScienceNature Mater.Nature Comm.J. Am. Chem. Soc.Angew. Chem. lnt. Ed. As a PI, he hosted 4 of the National Natural Science Foundation Projects.
